Health Trends

...it has been predicted that by the year 2000, the health industry will reach two trillion dollars.

Nick DiLoreto

With the advent of soaring medical costs, it has been predicted that by the year 2000, the health industry will reach two trillion dollars.  Today 10 cents  of every dollar is spent on alternatives, by the year 2000 that number will increase to 40 cents out of every dollar.  The NE Journal of Medicine reported that 34% of the American people have opted for alternative health care and have spent 52 billion out of their own pockets to do so.  People are becoming more pro-active about their health and wellness.

This great country of ours has become a leader in degenerative diseases.  Our managed care systems are merely managing illness.  Whereas other healthier countries are promoting the prevention of disease rather than just treating it.  We have some of the finest hospitals in the world and the finest physicians.  Today there are more and more doctors who recognize that there are alternatives to conventional medicine.

Today, it is not strange when someone goes to see a chiropractor, physical therapist, acupuncturist or reflexologist.  Medicine is not an exact science but it is the best we have in the world.  However it does not work for everyone.  Some patients go through surgery and are under medication with no hope for recovery.  They usually ask at this point is there anything else they can do or some other modality they can try.  Alternative therapy has been gaining momentum in the past 20 years.  There are many physicians who recognize the importance of alternatives and are now becoming more knowledgeable.
