3 cups Flour
1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 cup sugar 4 level tsps. baking powder 1 stick Promise Light Margarine 1 1/2 cups raisins (I use part golden and part California seedless) 1 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 1/4 cups skim milk Blend first five ingredients. (I use my hand pastry blender that I use to make pie crust). Soak raisins in warm water for five or ten minutes, drain and add to dough. Throw in caraway seeds. Mix. Add milk. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Note: This bread is good; I enjoy it toasted in the toaster oven and it is very palatable without adding any spread or jelly. July 6, 1998 |
