I was delighted to see the article on ragtime in The Melrose Mirror, and I'm
just plain impressed with your entire website. The recommended resources for learning more about ragtime are excellent, but I thought I would let you
know that there are some fabulous web sites that feature ragtime history and
An easy way to surf to these sites is off the links page of the web site of
("The Mississippi Rag" http://www.mississippirag.com),
the international traditional jazz and ragtime publication I've edited and ublished for the past 25 years. The RAG has links not just to ragtime sites, but also to trad jazz and ragtime societies, festivals featuring this music, and other musically-oriented web sites that will keep you surfing for hours.
The RAG serves a readership predominently made up of seniors, and believe me, these seniors know how to have fun! Many of the trad jazz and ragtime festivals are run by people well over 65 -- in fact, some of the most
successful festivals are run by people in their mid to late 70s! And many of the musicians are seniors who can still blow with the best of them.
Congratulations on a first-class site. I was directed to your site by a very
complimentary story in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
