One of the most unappreciated, under-used but beautiful attributes within the City of Melrose is that taken-for-granted park called the Middlesex Fells Reservation. It is highly visible as those cliffs and range of hills to the west of town, easily accessible, providing easy hiking, picnicing, and marvelous views of our valley, the ocean to the east, Boston and the cobalt Blue Hills to the south.
