Turkey Invades Melrose

... evidence supplied by Marie and David Moorland.

Several local families have reported turkeys appearing in the city limits -- perhaps cashing in on the good will shown to their brethren, the Canada geese. This is the first report, however, on a turkey invading the downtown area. Sightings of wildlife within the city in the past year have included a young moose and (one family reports) a coyote.

Nothing to do with turkeys, but the Moorlands included this typical winter scene. It is something we New Englanders look forward to each and every year. Well, more or less.
