Holiday Magic Show

... an alternative to Gameboy

by Russ Priestley

When you and your family are seeking excellent entertainment during the winter doldrums, you should consider visiting the magic show in nearby Beverly. Marco the Magi's production of "Le Grand David and his Spectacular Magic Company" is a breath-taking experience. In its 25th year, it has been widely acclaimed by Time, Smithsonian, and Yankee magazines, and has been given the "Best of Boston Award" by Boston magazine.

This is a joyous excursion into the world of classic stage magic presented by a large cast in an array of sparkling costumes. And it is presented every Sunday in the 750-seat Cabot Street Cinema Theatre in mid-downtown Beverly at 3:00 p.m. On Saturdays, from December 9th, the same troupe performs "An Anthology of Stage Magic" at the 500-seat Larcom Theatre at 2:00 p.m. on 13 Wallis Street, opposite Beverly City Hall.

These shows are performed on Sundays and "selected Saturdays and holidays" but advanced tickets by mail are recommended. Adults $15.00 each, child (11 years and under) $10.00 each, plus a handling charge. Check payable to White Horse Productions, Inc., and mailed with a SASE to Cabot Street Cinema Theatre, 286 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915. Designate which theatre, performance date, plus alternate date. Please include your phone number with area code along with your name, address and zip code. Tickets may be purchased for either show at Cabot Street Cinema Theatre, open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. telephone (978)927-3677.
