Togetherness

 ... an anonymous husband

It appears to me that it is easier photographing my wife's old sneakers than it is to write about them. The only time she wears them is when she goes out into the garden.

But this is a cherished picture. She and I have been together since that first blind date in 1952, for half a century now. Together we have brought something good to this world, and this place is better off for our being together. Eighteen thousand, two-hundred and fifty days, together. I'd like to relive every one of them. Well, almost every one.

I think I am the most fortunate man in the world. And that's not so hard to say, even in public.
