During the summer months it isn't unusual to see a raccoon at night. Now and then during the day with young ones. With all the snow we have been having, it was a surprise when my wife called me to the window and pointed to a BIG raccoon coming across the street. It was the biggest I ever saw. As it started down the driveway, I turned the light on and it went under the car. Turned on the deck light, got my camera and waited. Lil had thrown some bread out for the birds and I hoped it would find it.
I stood there a few minutes, but finally it began wandering around, found the bread and began eating. Took one picture and he took off. Stood waiting and eventually he came from under the trees and moved to the bread. He happened to look up at me as I took the picture, and took off again. This time he didn't come back. Every night I threw bread for him but never managed to catch him. The bread is gone the next morning though. I am still trying, and hope to get more pictures. January 6, 2006
