It was disclosed that the biggest problem today is locating veterans. Help is needed from everyone to assist all veterans. If you know of a veteran, let him know that assistance is available.

Plans are being formulated for Veterans Day ceremony Friday, November 11, 2005.

10:30 A.M. Starting at the Veterans Knoll across from High School on the Fellsway
10:45 A.M. Veterans Memorial at Ell Pond
11:00 A.M. Main Memorial across from City Hall.

Monthly meetings are planned.

Mr. Dunne has a project in mind to make a "Wall of Honor". He hopes to put each Melrose veteran's name on a "Dog Tag" like those issued to military personnel. If anyone has an old Addressographer Machine collecting dust, contact John.

The Dog Tags will be added for ALL MELROSE VETERANS who served in the Armed Forces.

The Wall of Honor will be at the new Veterans Memorial Middle School on the Fellsway when it is completed. Veterans are urged to contact Mr. Dunne.

If anyone has any donations that they could make, the new Veterans Agent will need a fax machine, shredder, and lockable filing cabinets.

Jean Ryan, elected chair person said:

"It's an honor and privilege to chair this board of veterans. We are all eager to assist the new Veterans Agent (John Dunne) in his service to the Melrose veterans and their families."
