The cardinal visits Melrose

... living in the city isn't so bad

from the SilverStringers

A family of cardinals made a home this season in our rather dense forsythia bushes, and have provided us with some beautiful bird songs. The couple also provided a youngster, who sat in our pin oak tree, which overlooks the Melrose valley, and sang for two days. I have to assume that the parents had done their job and went elsewhere, leaving junior to fend for himself. But then, living in the city isn't so bad, after all. Everybody wants to feed the cardinal.
