October's Photos of the Month

... two Melrosians draw from travel collections

from Mirror readers

FROM BARBARA LEEDHAM: "Thought you would like to see a picture of one of my latest adventures. Quidi Vidi is a small fishing community south of St. Johns (the capitol). My friends and I were in the area for a few days before taking the ferry to the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon for Bastille day. These islands are located south of Newfoundland. We took the ferry from the town of Fortune. It was just a short ride (1 1/2 hour approximately). We drove from Melrose to St. John's!"

FROM CAROL NELSON: "Early one morning I left my humble accommodations in Paris to see the sights. There were men in coveralls turning on hydrants and sweeping the streets and when I came to the corner, this photograph was just waiting for me."
