Tales of Open Road

The Ohio Crossing

by Bill Jodrey

There is quite a long stretch of open country between the cities of Columbus, Ohio and Stuebenville, Ohio, but that was just a short walk when one gets lucky and is offered a lift by a very attractive middle-aged lady. I was glad that I had had an opportunity to get cleaned up at the railroad station in town before stopping at the "Traveler's Roost" diner.

Someone had left a well-used bar of scented soap in the wash basin, and I put it to good use.
