Melrose's Lady Raider Volleyball Team was featured in the North Section of the Sunday Boston Globe on November 11 -- an article that dominated most of one page. The headline read "Melrose serves up win after win" and the subhead announced the club's 22-game streak. Two days later, in the finale of the battle for the District 2 North crown at the North Andover gym, a decidedly taller, stronger, skilled team from Boston's Central Catholic solidly diminished the Raiders, 3-1. The season ended abruptly, but future clubs will have a hard time equalling the '07 squad with its long string of victories. It was a dream season.
