The All-American breakfast, served in Melrose

... easy, economical, tastey and um-so-good!

from Don Norris

The All-American breakfast -- in Melrose, that is. That is, in my house, on occasion.

Start with a big slice of 12-grain bread, add half a nice-and-ripe Haas avocado, some sesame seeds to crunch upon, and a martini glass with five ice cubes, full to the brim with orange juice.

Toast and butter (use oleo) the bread. Cut four nice slices off the avocado, and peel; combine the goodies as pictured and sprinkle to your liking with sesame seeds.

Healthful. Delicious. Filling. Total cost, just about two bucks.
