Portrait of a young dog

... a short tail for M'Lue

by Carol Nelson

Call him Stubbs. A nub of a dog, he stood foursquare, resolved, resolute and firm. His appearance was, truth be told, on the scruffy side, unless freshly turned out from the groomer, temporarily disguised. He laughed at life, invited adventure and road trips. He took out his aggression on unwary cats. He ate ANYTHING!

Undaunted tic magnet, explorer par excellence and bon vivant, he was a full-blooded Australian Terrier, charming character, and leader of men. Irascible and unkempt.. with an air. Short, stocky, tough and lovable as a pirate. Typical of his breed, yet...unique! Superior in every way. Loved, lost and still remembered. R.I.P.
