Neighbors are wearing fur coats these days

... more wild, wild west than plain jane east

from Don Norris

The small suburban City of Melrose is getting to be more like the wild, wild west every day with all sorts of critters taking up residence. This fellow, a groundhog (we think) lives under a rock on Spear Street, next door. Although we haven't seen them lately, a family of coyotes set up housekeeping in nearby Mount Hood Park, along with some red fox, a skunk, an occasional deer, lots of turkeys, once a moose -- and we're only five miles from downtown Boston.
