Poetry

No one sits on the stoop anymore

by Sheila Kelly

No one sits on the stoop anymore
We are all total strangers now

Used to be we knew one another
Now silence replaces human caring

No more voices to be heard
No more laughter being shared

Such a dreary place this has become
No one sits on the stoop anymore
