Fire boxes and lamp posts

Fire boxes and lampposts serve more purposes than we realize. In this modern age of electronic communications, here (above) we have an excellent display of basic communication. Lisa is having a shower, and to get there, follow the blue arrow.

There is no computer involved, no wireless, not even a telephone -- here is the essence of human communication: A crayon, a piece of paper and a firebox. It's all we need.

It all happened in mid-May, in the Swains Pond area of Melrose.
