New/old farmers market opens for the season

... Sally Frank's opens at West Emerson Street park

from the SilverStringers

Ah, welcome back. The Sally Frank farm market opened this month at its new
location, the lovely little park off West Emerson Street, just west of the
railroad crossing.

It is an ideal spot, for the park is a credit to both our Park and Public Works
departments. At the opening there were a dozen tents set up, literally selling
most everything from soup to nuts. And a few trinkets to boot.

It was also reunion time for friends to re-meet -- in this case, Lorry Norris
(former Melrose school nurse) and Carol Nelson, champion of peace and
sensibilities. Both have been connected with the Melrose Mirror for many years,
Carol as a writer, Lorry as a provider of encouragement to husband/editor Don.

The market will be open on Thursdays from 1:00 to 7:00p.m. All are welcome.
