... once again, I had a great time with my daughter and grandchildren
Once again, another great time with my daughter and grandchildren. A couple of Sundays ago, we went to the Museum of Natural History in Cambridge, Massachusetts. On Sundays, before noon, the admission is free of charge and if you are lucky, you can find a parking space on the street around the Museum and you won't get ticketed. My oldest granddaughter went to the Museum a few years ago on a field trip with her class. She felt that she didn't have enough time to see all that she wanted to see, so to the Museum we went. This was our third visit there and it is still a wonder to behold. There will never be enough time to see all that the Museum holds. There are between 40 and 50 thousand glass flowers in cases alone which are so beautiful you would swear that they were real. It took two brothers over fifty years to fashion them.
My grandchildren are really interested in the rocks and minerals. They love to receive geodes and little rocks that they can crack open with hammers to see the formations inside. The boys love the animals and bones. Jonathan actually touched a cockroach even though everyone else said,"eeew, gross". I loved reading about "Dia de los Muertos and de los Angelilos" the "Days of the Dead" or "All Saints and All Souls Days". The exhibit was spectacular and the explanations of each and every exhibit made it so interesting.
Joslyn was interested in the Python exhibit. She had received a snake for her birthday and of course, she is hoping that her snake will grow to the size of the one in the exhibit.
They may have not charged for admission, but after $85.00 in the Museum Gift Shop, it was time to call it a day.
