A 'boon' for Melrose' naturalists: A large portion of the land owned by the Gutierrez development company was purchased by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority. That land, instead of being impacted with multi-level housing, will now serve as a twenty-million-gallon underground reservoir for water, to service several metropolitan communities south of Melrose.
