... hard to believe, the new MHS is already 50 years old.
Now the question is, Is the earth experiencing a warm climate change, one that will melt the
ice caps which in turn will flood the shores of the world? Here, will the change cause the Malden
River to flood and backup waters into the Melrose valley -- and our 'new' high school complex will
once again be underwater? Shades of the '50s and '60s, all over again?
The "Old" high school (pictured above) was built around 1933, and was replaced (by demolition) in
the early 1960s. Now the current school is 50 years old, built above current water levels, safe
from flooding -- at least until the ice caps melt.
