In the Land Of Alz

... the insidiousness of Alzheimer's Disease

Louise Sutton Fennell

So many times
We've walked the wintry beach
And watched the gulls
Gliding above the surf
And talked of simple things.

We never noticed the waves
Creeping in to steal away the sand.
The shadows sneaking across the sun
Darkening the earth.

I look in your eyes
But you're not there.
Where have you gone, my friend?
