A retro on a family-day Fourth

... the little people steal the scene ...

from Don Norris

There's not too much to say here, for the photos speak for themselves. Our work turns out to be a treatise on the community of Melrose, celebrating two centuries of liberty with a concert and impromptu parade-of-the-children on the Fourth of July. The site is the lawn of the Mount Hood Clubhouse.

The Middlesex Band provided strictly American marching music. The group was outstanding.

... and Golf Management -- the company that brought Mount Hood back to life and maintains the entire park in tip-top shape, co-sponsored the event, providing lemonade and popcorn.

The parade of the little ones begins ...

... and finally, a sunset that beat 'em all.
