Close-up of a favorite mushroom

... short and not eatable

from Don Norris

Mushrooms, for the most part, are considered weeds -- at least to most homeowners.

There are endless varieties, some eatable, some poisonous. Like this one: even though I am a fan of fried mushrooms, I can't tell the healthy ones from those that would do me in. I have to rely on the market manager to put out the good ones.

However, one cannot overlook the unique presentation this wild weed presents. It is uniform in form, colorfully attractive, shapely -- but for all I know, deadly. I therefore took its photograph and left it for the bunnies to decide whether it was good eating or not.
