Published the first Friday of each month by the SilverStringers of Melrose, Massachusetts -- September 6, 2013

That is Alice Consalvo of Melrose, telling the folks at the Senior Center just what she thinks of how things are going on today -- and celebrating her 100th birthday.. Not quite five feet high, she made battleships in World War II, then became (at one time) president of one of the two chapters of Veterans of Foreign Wars in Melrose. You'll find her in just about every parade we Melrosians produce.
