Tiny, brilliant, delicate -- the crocus bring joy

... small gems of nature, do it all by themselves

from Don Norris

Without much help, a few small crocuses bloomed -- maybe a million years ago -- and they come up every year since -- in my wife's garden. No care, no need to clear last year's leaves, don't bother to water them, they'll grow and spread on their own. What a beautiful way to spruce up the garden. They multiply, they meld colors and they enlighten our lives.
