Unlike every day

... its a joy to be alive and enjoy

by Shirley Rabb

The trees move with the wind. The leaves of the birch dance to the rhythm of the breeze and the pine trees sway to the sounds passing through them. The sky is a wonderful shade of blue with wispy clouds that seem to stand still in the air.

The Loons are nesting on the small island in the middle of the lake and the Red Winged Blackbirds fly back to their nest on the island closer to the shore.

Goldfinches at the feeder seem to be unaware of the dog at my side. Their color adds to this sun filled day.
Chickadees flit back and forth as I sit and listen to the music of the trees and the birds.

Across the lake the tall pines create a barrier to what lies beyond and a hill of sand glistens in the glow of the day.

This has been a day to relax, reflect, enjoy and be thankful for.
