In competition with such as all the new schools, our City Hall, the hospital, even Memorial Hall, -- even the churches -- the Melrose Public Library, with its lush gardens and handsome architecture, has to take the cake as the most beautiful building in the city.

Author's note: Mirror Editor Don Norris is prejudiced, for he served on the Board of Trustees for ten years, five as its chairman. With Dennis Kelley at the helm, it was a productive decade.
