Finally a weekend without rain or snow

... how wonderful it is

by Shirley Rabb

Today has been sun-struck. The sky is an azure blue with soft white stationary clouds.

Winter is not over here in Maine. The lake is still frozen and there is no path to the beach yet.

The picnic table is escaping slowly from the snow cover, and the fireplace is almost totally visible.

The wind is dancing with the pines and evergreen trees, and the birch trees wave their bare branches in a swirling tempo.

As the sun moves between the clouds the shadows cross the lake and mystify the trees on the snow.

It is spring on the calendar and finally the snow has gone from around the canoe after being hidden all these months.

It is spring and it is a day of sunshine. Hurrah!
