The Melrose Rotary Club will be the sponsor of Stars Over Melrose which promises a wealth of local talent. Tom Rosa producer of  the show said that the city has much talent that is both known and untapped. He went on to say, "We had a great time putting together a fantastic line up."

Rosa has put together a program of vocal and instrumental music featuring faces familiar to Melrose audiences. They have also performed in other stage productions. In addition the Star's audience will be treated to some budding entertainers. The MC for the show will be Melrose Rotarian Julie Nolan who performs as a stand up comedienne . She is also host of MMTV's  the "Julie Nolan Show."

Rosa, a Rotarian himself, is an impresario with an impressive record of presenting nonprofit events. He is Director of Special Projects for the Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps and is a veteran of numerous theatrical offerings, both in California and Massachusetts.

He said, "It's great to be able to stage a show for Melrose Rotary...(Rotary is) a terrific organization that does so much good in the world."

Melrose is part of a world-wide, non-sectarian service organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Beneficiary projects of the Melrose Rotary include the Melrose Skate Board Park on Tremont Street. It also supports Beyond the Label an initiative to encourage area businesses to hire developmentally disadvantaged young people. It also contributes to Rotary International's top philanthropic goal, the eradication of polio world wide.

Stars Over Merose will take place at Memorial Hall on Saturday evening February 27.

Rosa said, "This show will present great talent and introduce the audience of some aspects of Rotary that they may have not known about. Most of all, it will be a terrific evening of entertainment.
