Biography Sally Ann Ryan (maiden name Linnell): I was born in Melrose on 12-17-30, and am a third generation Melrosian. I have lived in Colorado, New Mexico, and now live in Marin County, CA with my daughter and grandson.

Education: Melrose High 1948, Boston University 1953, New Mexico Highlands University 1961.

Occupation: Administrative Law Judge, Marin County, Health and Human Services Department. Retired.

Favorite Authors: Grisham, P.D. James, and Hemingway.

I have been active in politics and have held elective offices. I loved managing campaigns both local and national. The elective offices I have held are:
Marin Republican Central Committee
Santa Clara County Republican Central Committeee
Vice President, Marin League of Women Voters
Vice President, Marin Republican Women
Vice President, Los Altos Republican Women
President, Marin Aid to Retarded Children.

The appointed positions held:
Director, Marin County Status of Women Commission
Board of Trustees of Sonoma State Hospital
California Republican State Central Committee
Marin Council for Civic Affairs.

Now that I am retired, my greatest hobby is my 8 1/2 year old grandson. He is a great Pitcher and first baseman in the Little League Minors. I promised him I will write a book for him, and this is my start.

I live in California, but Melrose is my home.

I became a member of the Melrose Silver Stringers, July 8, 1999.
