I was born in Medford, Massachusetts in September, 1929. The family moved to Melrose when I was six months old, where I have lived in the same house ever since. I live with one sister, Betty (died 3/26/13), Margie, and I have another sister, Sr. Evelyn, a Daughter of Charity who is in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
After graduating from St. Mary's High School, I worked for E. R. Squibb & Sons and then for the Boston and Maine Railroad (now Guilford Transportation Industries, Inc.), where I was a secretary in the Law Department when I retired. I then worked in the Law Offices of McNaught & Moriarty in Melrose, where I still work a few hours a week.
As Secretary for the Silver Stringers, I am also an Editor for the Mirror.
My other hobbies include attending Boston Bruins Hockey Games (I have had a Season Ticket for over 40 years) and traveling. I have been to most of the 50 states as well as many countries overseas, including Russia (for the Team Russia/Team Canada Games), Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Nepal, India, many European countries, and Antarctica. Someday, when I have time, I will write about some of my travels.
I also enjoy reading, knitting and crocheting (when and if I have time).
